No. 340 - Project Vanity

So little by little, my bedroom has been coming together as a place where I absolutely love to be in {it's my favourite room in our condo}. Check out a few of my bedroom projects here, here, and here. Today, I'm introducing you to my "vanity". I knew right from when I moved in that this would be the centerpoint of the room, but I just didn't know it would turn it so well. My inspiration came from Ikea. I loved the idea of a full length mirror with shelves under it.

Here is my version.

P.S. Check out the DIY tutorial for the skin care products box here.

Personally, I am in love with this setup.
I sit down in front of my shelving & huge Kijiji find of a mirror and enjoy getting ready in the morning.

No. 334 - Project Curtains

Here is my latest bedroom project that I completed over the weekend.
My goal is to transfer little bits of myself onto the walls that surround me each day, and even though it has almost been a year already, slowly my bedroom is taking character. I love it. Check out some other projects here and here.

They were too long on the first try, so I took them down and hemmed them.

No. 328 - DIY Chalkboard Wall

Well, it finally happened! I painted a chalkboard wall in my bedroom,
and I am IN LOVE with it. Lyrics, verses, quotes. The wall is an open book.
Here is the oh, so, simple process, so you can enjoy a chalkboard wall too!

Here is the before picture.
{I had debated between a half wall or full wall, and decided on a full wall because . . . YOLO}.

Painter's tape.

This is the first coat. I did all the edges and around the light switch with a paint brush, and then
everything else with a roller brush. I did two coats and waited approximately 2 hours between the two coats.

Here it is after taking the painter's tape off, but you still have to let it dry through the night before you write on it.

Woke up, and wrote on my beautiful new chalkboard wall! Love it!

First thing to cross off my 23 Before 24 Bucket List!

No. 281 - It's A Shelf Life

So I have wanted shelves for over my bed for a VERY LONG time, but because (a) I am so slow and hesitant at committing to putting anything up on the walls and (b) I couldn't find the ones I wanted, it took me until yesterday to finally put up shelves. However, after a lot of searching, I finally found my dark brown shelves, at Walmart of all places.

Special shout-out to Dad because without him these shelves would still be on the floor or worse, crooked.

Some flowers from my bouquet from yesterday.

A wonderful picture I found on Pinterest.

Check out this DIY here.

I am so very happy with the completed element these shelves bring the room.
I am also excited with the limitless possibilities of arranging and rearranging what's on the shelves.

No. 215 - Before & After School Room

There are some changes happening over at our residence, and it resulted in Dad, Isaac, and I doing some renovations on Sunday afternoon. Here are the results, and I like them!

Previous School Room:

Also, Dad hung this beautiful ballerina picture. Thanks, Dad!

Current School Room:

And check out these organizational skills!

I am in love with my new school nook!
A comfortable place to do school in makes all the difference.
Also remember yesterday where I was wishing I had a craft room?
Well, I totally feel like this counts! Lots of room and a window :)

Side Note: Isaac inherited the desk from the previous school room.

Side Note 2: Check out my Countdown to 2nd Year in the sidebar!
