This Is Why I Should Probably Never Meet A Movie Celebrity . . .

Remember that banquet I got to go to the other night??? I got the opportunity to shake hands with our MP, Brian Jean {two degrees of separation between me and the prime minister!!!}. Anyways, I'm pretty sure I did not make any sense in our interaction, and I couldn't shut up. But he was very pleasant and told me not to be nervous to introduce myself in the future. Haha, however, now we know that I'm all talk and no confidence :P

Here's another picture of me and the bestie from that night.

Happy Tuesday!

Halloween Craft Night

On Tuesday night, I had the opportunity to hang out with a dear friend, and not only celebrate our completion of a variety of milestones within our school courses but also to do some Halloween-themed crafts.

She was preparing for her Halloween costume.
I was preparing for my Halloween party decorations.

Such a fun night full of crafty-ness and girl time.

On The Radio

I have a friend who is a radio host at a local, Christian radio station.
We connected over our mutual YWAM histories.
And we've never looked back.
So, the other day, our friendship consisted of hanging out in the sound booth.
Check it out.

Ty & Flaxee

Goodness knows I've talked about and pictured Flaxee lots on this blog, and this past weekend, my girl got MARRIED!!!! What a beautiful wedding. Pastor Johny called it "Something right out of Pinterest" which was exactly true. Here are some snapshots.

Congratulations to Tyler & Flaxee!

365 Photos Recap: Saddest Picture

And the winner is . . . No. 321: Kate McKate.

The picture itself is not sad. It is all the details surrounding the picture that is sad. Maybe because it is still a fresh situation? Maybe because I still dearly miss her? Either way, this post makes me sad. Read the full story here.

UPDATE: Got to have a long conversation with her on the phone two nights ago. Not near as sad now :)

No. 321 - Kate McKate

Disclaimer: This is one of the more difficult posts to write. Please bear with me.

I thought a long time about how I wanted to word this post. Even now as I sit down to actually write it, I am holding back tears {sorry to be melodramatic}. I could list 24 things I love about her. Or I could do a recap of all the adventures we've had. But even if I did a five-part-series on my friend Kate, it would not do her justice. Because you can't just read about Kate . . . you have to experience Kate.

But I'll do my best.

She will find your true self and will only settle for being friends with that side of you, none of this shallow, small-talk stuff. Kate wants to know who you are.

She will instantly go to prayer when you share a problem or concern with her, and it's not a "let's pray because I have no advice for this situation" prayer. It is a "let's deal with this the right way" prayer. You notice God in the room when she prays.

She will embrace you no matter what your age, race, gender, occupation, experience, reputation, background. She will do her best to reach out and make that connection.

She will go crazy with you in every way possible.

Now, Kate has gone on to a new chapter of life, one which I am SO proud of her for doing. And yet even before this new chapter, she is living life to the fullest this summer doing some traveling {YOLO anyone?}. As much as her leaving will leave its effect on many of us northern crew, her going forward will produce even more effects.

She IS going to change the world, and I am just so honoured I got to see it for a little while.

I love you, Kate.

No. 312 - Annual Diva Dinner

*title stolen from Larissa*

The small group I belong to has been one of the best parts of living in Fort McMurray, and a few nights ago, we carried out a tradition that I believe will be an annual thing.

Our diva dinner.

Basically, we all get dolled up, go out to supper, and take fun pictures . . . because . . . we can!

Here are some shots.

No. 284 - Guest Photo/Post: iisabellaanne

So, some of you might remember Bella from my blog when she was featured alongside Brother herehere, and here. However, I thought she deserved a chance to shine all by herself, and what do you know, she has a blog of her own (I knew there was a reason we are friends). Anyways, when I approached Bella to do a guest photo/post on my blog, she was more than happy to oblige.

So, Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you Bella from iisabellaanne.

Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I am nineteen years old. I have two brothers and three sisters. One brother is my twin. We're the oldest. I am currently Nannying for one 11 month old baby boy. I live in Vancouver, British Columbia. I go to West Side Church and teach Sunday School there. I love the colour red, a hot cup of tea, a good long book, cooking, and life. But I love Jesus the most of all those things!

Tell us a little bit about your blog.
My blog is about my life and its goings on. I like to share photos of the people and places I encounter in my day. And I often talk about my Spiritual walk with God. It's quite the journey.

Why did you start blogging?
It's kind of a funny story. My first Blog was actually not this one - it was to post my daily treks across my city to my old job working at Day Care. Many strange things happened: the bus driver pretended to be a pilot, it snowed inside, an old man trying to call his wife on his iPod . . .
And when I stopped doing that job everyday, I stopped have Daily Bus "LOLS", as I called it. So I started a new one! And thus iisabellaanne was born!

What is the most challenging thing about blogging?
Picking what to talk about! And then deciding how personal I want to get with the post. Sometimes I feel like the post is my journal . . .

{And now for some fun stuff . . . }

Candy or Chocolate?
Mostly depends on my mood. However, I sometimes don't feel like candy, and I ALWAYS feel like chocolate.

Black or White?
I never thought about this actually. To quote Michael Jackson, "It don't matter if you're black or white!" I like both on varying occasions. Wow. You could say I am indecisive.

Movie or TV Show?
Movie.

Favourite colour?
Red!

Favourite activity?
That's hard. Sounds weird, but I love walking. Most recent long walk was 7 km.

Favourite role model?
My mom!

Name 5 things you want to accomplish in the next year.
1. Finish all the books I own but haven't read.
2. . . . have more things I want to accomplish in this year, haha.

Any advice for aspiring bloggers?
I feel like I am still an aspiring blogger. One thing that helps me is that I have a very following. My close friends and family. They always make me feel like I am blogging interesting things! Which is encouraging.

Make sure you check out her blog sometime.
Speaking from personal experience, Bella is a real gem.
Thanks, girl, for the guest photo/post.

No. 231 - Frolicking

It felt like spring, so we took a walk the other day.
It was beautiful.

I jumped in puddles with my red rainboots!

We stopped in Home Hardware.
That pig is a BBQ . . . yes, a BBQ . . .

. . . that cost $2,199.99!

I am so ready for spring!
