I love the setting, the location, the people, the lighting, etc. I love that I know I shot this in manual setting on my camera, which is something I self-taught myself how to do throughout this past year. Basically, I posted this picture along with this huge story about how I planned to transfer to the University of Alberta in September for my final two years of school, except it was April Fool's Day! I was actually able to fool quite a few people with this post :).

This is my favourite picture of all three hundred and sixty-five photos. Why you might ask? I mean, it is blurry. The lighting is incredibly bad. And there is an awful glare. And just like that, here are my last pictures in the 365 Photo A Day Challenge. Since my first picture was on the running track, I thought it only fitting to come full circle and do my last picture there as well. 

It's symbolic, isn't it? One year ago, the track represented the start of a new challenge. Now, one year later, the track represents a new journey. I am sorry, but I am getting all philosophical and emotional over this. Tomorrow will be a lengthy explanation for the future, but for right now, let's just enjoy day 365 of the photo challenge :)

No. 364 - Embrace Your Surroundings

Can you believe that this is the second last photograph? Since I've already known what my last picture would be for some time now, I thought it only fitting that the second to last would include my family.

This is my family. They are my best friends, biggest supporters, favourite people, most valued influence, and I could go on. However, living with these two has shown me the value of embracing the time when you have it. I did not always have the opportunity to live in the same household as either Dad or Brother, so lately, I've been really trying to make a conscious effort to enjoy living with them now. 

And it pays off. I love being around them, and they can make me laugh like no other. They put up with all my crazy crafty hippie shenanigans. And in turn, I get unparalleled support. So, I'm taking this time {and I encourage you too} to embrace my surroundings. Here are some other shots from the family dinner.

No. 363 - This Is Our City Part 10

Yay, not only is the 365 Photo A Day Challenge coming to an end in TWO days,

but this also marks the end to the This Is Our City Challenge. I started this challenge as a way to document ownership of the beauty and potential of Fort McMurray. I love where I live and I wanted to share that love, whatever it looked liked. This final installment is a bit different though.

At the end of July, the youth and young adults of MGA got together at Borealis Park to celebrate the Lord and worship in the midst of our city. It was an amazing and challenging night. But it will never be more powerful to sing "Oh no, we won't stay silent/Shout it out from the rooftops singing/We're not ashamed, not ashamed of You, Jesus" as it is to sing it outside. We are here. This is our city.

No. 360 - This Is Our City Part 9

Last week, my friends and I had the opportunity to go up to Abram's Land in Timberlea. This is the area of land that will have the future McMurray Gospel Assembly on it, among other things. We sang worship songs, prayed, and just experienced the Lord. He was definitely there . . . I especially noticed in the wind.
This land is an important part of the future of our city.
