OUAT: Selfless, Brave, and True

DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. Those are my emotional thoughts on tonight's episode. Now, here are my logical ones on "Selfless, Brave, and True."
  • Best Moment: AUGUST W. BOOTH! I have been campaigning. I have put up posters. I have made a Facebook page. I have mentioned him in pretty much every single recap blogpost. And tonight, he was back in black! August W. Booth was seriously one of the best parts of season 1, so to see him play such a mighty, albeit small-screen-time, role in season 2 is wonderful. However, . . . .
  • Worst Moment: . . . is he now DEAD!?!? I mean what? I was a little bit confused. Because Pinocchio is now back to a little boy. So is he kind of like Jamie Dornan, and his character only comes back in flashbacks. Because if so, that sucks! Best and worst episode ever. How could they "kill" August W. Booth {also known as resorting back to a little boy}??? I know we have Captain Hook to fill the resident Storybrooke heartthrob role, but WHY AT THE EXPENSE OF AUGUST W. BOOTH?????
*takes about 10 minutes to compose self*
  • Crossover Moment: I'm still a little confused with the timeline. August W. Booth was a bit of a bad guy. But then he randomly reached out to Neal in 2000 in order to help Emma. Took off. Then came back in 2011. Hmmm. Okie dokie. Oh well, no complaints, cause he just got more screen time.
  • Romance Moment: Prince Charming is trying so hard. The poor guy. His wife is going through some stuff.
  • Exciting Moment: Hook isn't in the storage unit anymore. Appearance soon. Hoorah!
  • Evil Moment: Since my last campaign reached its end, what about the lets-all-dislike-on-Tamara campaign? Seriously, that girl is bad news. Come on, Neal. After Emma, that is what you go for???
  • Girl Power Moment: Snow practicing archery.
  • Character Moment: So who exactly is The Dragon??
  • Shipper Moment: Emma & Neal or Emma & Hook. I can't decide . . . .
  • Story Moment: I'm glad Regina recognized Greg/Owen. That story would have been too much if it had dragged on forever. Now that she knows, can she please make good on her promise and make him disappear???
  • Confrontation Moment: Anyone else a little scared when Tamara showed up at August W. Booth's trailer? Now we know she is in Storybrooke to steal magic. Thankfully Neal is innocent {I think}.
  • Cute Moment: Emma apologizing to Henry. Happy Family Moment.
  • True Love Moment: Our favourite couple will find a way to fix Mary Margaret's heart. It's their "thing".
  • Cliffhanger: Greg & Tamara sitting in a tree. K-I-S-S-I-N-G. {Totally called it last week.}
  • Next Episode {in 3 weeks, boo}: Belle & Robin Hood :)

Happy Monday!

OUAT: Welcome To Storybrooke

To be honest, I thought this episode would deliver more of . . . I don't know . . . something. Don't get me wrong, I don't think it's possible to "hate/dislike" an episode of Once Upon A Time. But this was definitely one of the slower-more-predictable-nothing-really-happened episodes. Let's discuss "Welcome To Storybrooke".

  • Best Moment: SHERIFF GRAHAM!!!! I seriously need to stop reading spoilers and whatnot, because it somewhat ruined the surprise impact. Either way, I was so happy to see him step out of the police vehicle in all his sheriff glory. Or maybe in Regina's words, "That uniform is so well-fitted."
  • Worst Moment: Kinda like I was ready for Cora to go away, I am now equally ready for Mr. Greg Mendell/Owen Flynn to leave. Where does he get the right to {A} stay in Storybrooke, {B} go for random nature hikes, {C} call Regina on Henry's behalf, and {D} randomly show up at the most opportunistic times to take videos of magic going-ons???? {Any bets placed that the "Her" he's been communicating with is Neal's fiance, Tamara?}
  • Interesting Moment: I didn't realize that the people of Storybrooke literally lived the same life day-in-and-day-out for 28 years. Ya, that would be boring for the one Storybrooke resident who knows differently. {Also, I read somewhere that Rumplestiltskin didn't regain his memory until Emma came into town}.
  • Funny Moment: Regina eats anything apple. Apple pancakes. Apple turnovers.
  • Character Moment: Little Owen may be cute, but he's a little bit of a brat. Anyone else think so? Mind you, Regina was acting equally bratty, so maybe it's all good.
  • Plot Moment: Is Rumplestiltskin right? Is the only way to end this blood feud with Regina to kill her? I mean, they tried saving her before {actually many times}, and it hasn't worked. The one catch, as per usual, . . . Henry.
  • Creepy Moment: Regina being all like, "Stay with me and live in Storybrooke" to Owen and Kurt. I'm sure there are less creepy ways to proposition new living locations.
  • Random Moment: Hi Gus/Billy.
  • Family Moment: It was nice seeing Neal & Emma working together to try to protect Henry. It was also funny when Neal was thinking how great of a father he was when really, no. I'm digging this trio.
  • Thrilling Moment: Kurt & Owen vs. Regina & Sheriff Graham car chase. Any team that has Sheriff Graham on it has my vote.
  • Climax Moment: This is what I mean when I think it was one of "those" episodes. Did anyone actually think Henry was going to "blow up magic"? Did anyone actually think Team Charmings would kill Regina or vica versa? Did anyone actually think Regina would kill MM/Snow? No, hence the I-wasn't-as-impressed-with-this-episode attitude.
  • Story Moment: It'll be interesting to see where they go with the black spot on MM's heart, and how that will all get handled/resolved.
  • Cliffhanger: Greg=Owen.
  • Next Episode: Greg & Tamara get involved in Storybrooke but who cares because AUGUST W. BOOTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy Monday!

OUAT: The Miller's Daughter

I've been waiting for this Rumplestiltskin-Cora-Regina-theory-episode for awhile now. Turns out I was semi-right, but not quite. Let's discuss "The Miller's Daughter".

  • Best Moment: Bae/Neal & Rumple/Mr. Gold forgiveness. So touching and so moving during this revenge-crazy episode. I am so happy they could move past the things of the past to rekindle their father-son relationship. It was so moving when Neal grabbed Mr. Gold's hand, and they cried together. Not gonna lie, I actually thought they might kill off Robert Carlyle's character. Glad it wasn't so.
  • Worst Moment: Well, our dear snow white queen has gone and done it now. When she whispered "Cora" over that candle, I definitely got chills. Of course, she gets some brownie points returned for her instant regret and attempts to fix it, but she still went through with it. It will be interesting to see how this all pans out.
  • FairyTale Moment: So before Once Upon A Time ever came into our lives, the only story I knew about Rumplestiltskin was the fact that he promised to turn straw into gold for this girl if she gave him her firstborn child. She said yes. Then when the girl actually had her firstborn child, she didn't want to give her up. Rumple said that if she could guess his name, she could keep the child. So, yep, that's all I knew about the character Rumplestiltskin. It was nice to see some of the traditional story weaved throughout with Once's twist.
  • Funny Moment: Cora taking out her frustration on the "enchanted box"/phone tap.
  • Cool Moment: Henry & Neal sailing the shop {Peter-Pan-theorists-discuss}.
  • Creepy Moment: Anyone else a little weirded out by the Cora-Rumplestiltskin relationship?
  • Interesting Moment: Neal & Emma's little conversation while she was laying out invisible chalk was interesting. Haha, and then David got all protective father on her.
  • Storyline Moment: Is it true you can't love without a heart??? Or was MM just making that up?? Then what about Graham??? But I guess he was kinda going crazy . . .
  • Plot Moment: So Cora married a prince, but then Regina still doesn't end up being queen until Cora sets up that meet-cute??? I sense another story/explanation there. However, Regina's Dad, Henry, is still hanging around until Regina killed him {in episode 2 of season 1}.
  • Cliffhanger: Cora dies {I'm actually kinda glad this character is gone; however it's sad that it is at the expense of Snow}.
  • Next Episode: Regina vs. Snow. EPIC!

For your updated purposes :)

Happy Monday!

OUAT: The Queen Is Dead

After an Oscar worthy break {check out my favourite moments here}, our favourite show is back with a tug-at-your-heart-albeit-slower episode. Let's discuss "The Queen Is Dead".

  • Best Moment: I really like Bailee Madison {Young Snow White}. She has an uncanny resemblance to Ginnifer Goodwin, and she's a really good cryer {I know, weird, but go with me on that}. She definitely carried the episode.
  • Worst Moment: I am kinda sorta most definitely over Cora. Just leave already. Or use the dagger. Or really anything. I feel like all she does is talk about her evil plan to kill Rumplestiltskin, but then just ends up killing everybody else instead. I was so over their "multiple dagger explanations". I'm content with Regina being the big bad once again. Go away, Cora.
  • Character Moment: Oh, hello, Mrs. Patmore
  • Funny Moment: Henry & Neal carried the humour this week. Neal got my vote when he joked that the greatest pizza was ". . . something, something, something, fields of Zorn" {AKA FairyTale World}, and Henry got my vote when he said to Mr. Gold "Should I call you Grandpa now?"
  • Suspicious Moment: Totally called the blue fairy impersonation :)
  • Awesome Moment: Neal can sail a ship. And he spent time in Neverland. And he knows Hook. This character just keeps getting better and better.
  • Scary Moment: When Mr. Gold got all threatening in Henry's face. Seriously, neither Neal nor Emma heard that??? And Henry just kept quiet about that?? Okay, then.
  • Evil Moment: So is Regina back to her evil ways? Or did the big reveal about Cora orchestrating every event from the stable boy to Snow's runaway horse tug her back to the right side? It'll be interesting to see, because Regina is the wild card.
  • Random Moment: Hook is locked in a storage unit somewhere in New York. For all his bad boy-ness, he sure pays for it.
  • Complicated Moment: Neal has a fiance. Hello, Tamara.
  • Cliffhanger: Snow is going to kill Cora {raise your hand if you actually think our white queen will go there}.
  • Next Episode: Somebody dies, and we find out if my Rumplestiltskin-Cora-Regina predictions are true.

Happy Monday!

OUAT: Manhattan

Well, it happened! The moment we had all been waiting/hoping for on Once Upon A Time has reached us! Let's talk about the excellent episode of Manhattan!

  • Best Moment: Well last week {and other preceding weeks}, I was pushing for Neal Cassidy to be none other than Rumplestiltskin's son, Baelfire, which we found out this week, HE WAS! Woohoo, throw a party, because everybody on Once Upon A Time is related {more on that later}. But ya, the best moment of the night was when Emma tackled Neal and then BOOM!
  • Worst Moment: To be honest, I was way more interested in the real world side of things than the fairytale world side of things tonight. The fairytale flashbacks weren't bad, but they were just, meh. Still don't like Milah.
  • Evil Moment: The dynamic trio, Regina-Cora-Hook, spent the whole episode treasuring hunting for Rumplestiltskin's dagger in order to kill all the Charmings and then Regina could be reunited with her "son" {or potential half-nephew}.
  • Parallel Moments: There were two in this episode. First, Henry and Rumplestiltskin related to each due to the nature of their long lost family members. It was cute to see Henry try to comfort Gold. Then the parallel between Rumple/Bae & Bae/Henry. I predict those father/son relationships will come back to face us time and time again.
  • August W. Booth Moment: Still only in flashback form, but he delivered the game changing message "I know you're Baelfire". Still waiting for the wooden man to make an appearance on our small screens.
  • Creepy Moment: The seer. Anybody else think so?
  • Funny Moment: MM and David trying to sort out their twisted family tree. David: "It's a good thing we don't have Thanksgiving in our land, because that dinner would suck." Don't worry, everyone, I made a family tree to clear up confusion {I also threw in Regina potentially being Cora & Rumple's daughter just for the heck of it}.
  • Annoying Moment: Is anyone else just kinda hating on Greg Mendell's character? Stop messing with our lives and taking videos of magic moments!
  • Riveting Moment: The big reveal of Henry being Neal's son. This was played off so well. I barely made any notes because I couldn't take my eyes of the screen. 11 years old :) Good thing Neal is really good with math. It was also cool how eager he was to see his son.
  • Sad Moment: Emma talking about how Neal broke her heart. She really is the victim here, despite lying to Henry.
  • Cliffhanger: Rumplestiltskin has to kill the boy who will be his undoing. Whups, that's your grandson . . .
  • Next Episode: In two weeks {due to Oscars, whoop, whoop}, something between Snow & Cora and Hook attacking Mr. Gold.

Happy Monday!

OUAT: Tiny

Three weeks is really too long to go without our favourite TV show, so it was so enjoyable to get into the groove. And let me just tell you, Brother and I were calling the storylines and plots in this episode like a boss! Thoroughly enjoyable. But let's admit, anything with Hurley is :)
  • Best Moment: The "romantic" conversation that MM & David had while walking home from the diner after Anton/Tiny was incorporated into their community. I just remember where they were last Valentines when David bought two Valentines cards {what ever happened to Catherine anyways?}. They've come so far. I realize they disagree about going back to FairyTale World, but at least they are together.
  • Worst Moment: I'm not gonna lie. I was thoroughly confused and bit worried over Mr. Gold's freak-out it the men's room at the airport. Is it because he's losing his magic? I wasn't certain what was all going on here.
  • Flirt Moment: Hook to MM. I feel as if there is a different gal he flirts with every week. Luckily, Prince Charming was there to put him in his place.
  • Cool Storyline Moment: I would just like to say that I totally called the "giant-had-a-run-in-with-David's-twin-brother-James" story. Seriously, I did. Ask Brother if you don't believe me. I like that they brought back "James". It was cool to see the difference between the brothers. Although it did give me a startle seeing James & Jacqueline together.
  • Random Moment: King George
  • Twist Moment: Jacqueline = Jack = Jack and the Beanstalk. Did not see that one coming, but it totally worked. {Tess Mercer from Smallville anyone?}
  • Magic Moment: Tiny & mushrooms & Regina & whatnot. However, does anybody else think his character is exactly the same as Hurley's from LOST? A little unsure of himself? But finds his purpose in being put in charge of something {food-related nonetheless}?
  • Cute Moment: Henry's reactions during the roadtrip. "Cinnabons!"
  • Scary Moment: Greg Mendell and Belle conspiring together. I know she can't help it, but I really don't like the memory-less Belle. It is really sad.
  • Confusing Moment: So Cora sent Regina to do her work? Why didn't she just use the same spell she's been using all along in Storybrooke to turn herself into someone else? Random.
  • Worrisome Moment: Should we be worried about Regina's reaction to Emma taking Henry out of town?
  • Funny Moment: Watching MM explaining to Tiny the whereabouts of Emma.
  • Prince Moment: For as bad as James was tonight, David pulled out all of the stops. Holster. Surrendering himself for the sake of the town. Saving Tiny.
  • Cliffhanger: Mr. Gold freaking out on a plane.
  • Next Episode: NEAL CASSIDY/BAELFIRE HAS TO BE RUMPLE'S SON AND HENRY'S DAD! How can it not be? Also, Hook, Cora, and Regina conspire to kill Rumplestiltskin.

Happy Monday!

I Have A Crush On . . .

Okay, so this is how it works in my life {for the lesser important things that is}. I get really into some fad or phase for awhile, and I can't just keep it to myself. So here are my latest crushes

  • Hockey - How can you not cheer when it's been such a long process to get the season started? 48 games? Anything can happen! Of course, I'm a Vancouver Canucks fan through and through! Go Schneider!

  • Jennifer Lawrence - Come on, who doesn't like this girl? She is one of the funniest and down-to-earth celebrities out there, and I feel as if she has appeal to everyone.

  • Yoga - Every since I found out I can take a Yoga class for a 3 credit elective, I've been sold. Not only do I relax and de-stress, but it's a workout. Yes please! {And yes, I look like this all the time . . . }

  • Captain Hook - I have not come across one gal who doesn't like the resident bad boy on Once Upon A Time. You know what they're calling his fans on Twitter??? #hookers . . . I promise, I didn't come up with that one.

  • Reading - I wrote about my 100 Books To Read Challenge on Wednesday, but can I just say that there is nothing so wonderful as escaping into the world of fiction and knowledge? I often remind Brother that my choice superpower would be to remember everything I read.

What do you have a crush on these days???
Happy Friday!

OUAT: In the Name of the Brother

This episodes began at such a fast-pace that I kept getting caught up with what was happening on the screen and had to remind myself to take notes. However, was it an episode worthy to keep us waiting for three weeks until the next one? Let's find out and discuss In the Name of the Brother.
  • Best Moment: As mentioned before, I really liked the opening sequence. Hook gets hit with a car. Belle freaks out. Mr. Gold uses magic. Emma shows up on scene. Hook flirts with Emma {despite broken ribs}. Gold threatens to kill Hook {again}. The Charmings show up on scene. We get our first glance at the mystery guy {boo to not being August W. Booth or Neal Cassidy}.  And cue opening credits. And breathe. It was nice to have an episode where I felt as if everyone was involved.
  • Worst Moment: I'm sorry, but Belle "killing" Chip kinda was my gasp-worthy moment of the night. I mean, how can she/they kill Chip? *Runs off screaming "Oh the humanity"*.
  • Random Moment: I really feel like the hospital is too small for that whole paging system. Can't someone just drop by Dr. Whale's office? And who would have thought it was all OR-equipped-out and what not. Maybe I'm just having a nurse moment.
  • FairyTale Moment: Okay, let's just get this out of the way so we can focus on the better-half-Storybrooke storyline of this episode. Ahem, I still can't wrap my head around the fact that Dr. Frankenstein is a FairyTale flashback. Yes, it is always interesting to get a character's backstory, but give me an enchanted forest any day over a black-and-white Victorian era.
  • Confusing Moment: So wait, true love's kiss doesn't work? Or is the question, is Rumple truly in love with Belle?
  • History Moment: Rumple and Cora have history with a capitol H. Anybody sensing a "you-can-have-my-daughter-if-I-can't-guess-your-name" storyline coming on? Seriously though, that was the only thing I knew about the character Rumpelstiltskin before OUAT.
  • Storyline Moment: So has Dr. Whale seriously been just drinking in his office since his arm grew back? Oh, P.S. David explaining that scenario and the fact that Daniel-stein came back to Emma and MM was amusing. But ya, I feel as if Dr. Whale wouldn't have waited until this night to have his breakdown. Oh well, writing and story purposes I suppose. {P.S. At this point, I turn to Brother and go "Ohhhhh, a whale of a tale. I get it now."}
  • Evil Moment: Cora is playing Regina. Yep. I don't trust her.
  • Flirty Moment: Hook doesn't have his hook, and his ribs are broken, but he still manages to come on to Emma. My girlfriends and I were discussing that he just kind of flirts with anything female no matter what situation he is in. Not complaining.
  • Best Line Moment: Emma to her parents, "Ya, well in the normal world, the sheriff goes in alone. She doesn't bring her parents in with her". Booyah.
  • Cute Moment: Emma + Henry + David + MM all eating breakfast after pulling a night shift. It gave us a glimpse of what their normal life could be like.
  • Intriguing Moment: So we now know that Rumple's son is on the east coast. Hmmm, I wonder which other character lives on the east coast????
  • Funny Moment: Awkward reference to MM & Dr. Whale's affair. "We were cursed".
  • Cliffhanger: The stranger/Greg Mendell {who just stirs up memories of Timeline and Sweet Home Alabama} first of all lied about texting and driving and then called "Her" to tell her about magic. Seriously, who puts someone down as "Her" in their contacts??? Also we know he's a Star Wars fan. Maybe he's Luke Skywalker. Hey, with the whole world-crossover thing, anything's possible.
  • Next Episode {in three long weeks}: HURLEY IS BACK, and he's less than giant size. Also Rumple & Emma go on a trip.

Two questions for this week:
  1. What's your take on the Frankenstein storyline?
  2. How long do you think this show is going to take before it just admits what we all know already? That Neal Cassidy is Baelfire.
Happy Monday!

OUAT: The Outsider

A gasp-worthy moment at the end made this episode CAH-RAZY! Let's talk about The Outsider!

  • Best Moment: To be honest, the episode was a slower one, so the best moments were the closing scenes. The mystery car is just full of possibilities {#NeilCassidyorBaelfire}, and I'm glad it kept Rumple from killing Hook, even though he wanted to.
  • Worst Moment: I literally gasped out loud when Hook shot Belle. Then I continued to sit with my mouth hanging open as she lost her memories. Between being locked up, shot, and losing her memories, that girl has the worst timing.
  • Storyline Moments: There were so many interweaving of previous storylines, which I love. {A} Rumpelstiltskin's trip planning. {B} Belle & Dreamy/Grumpy chatting in the pub. {C} Opening of the library. {D} Mulan makes her return. {E} Milah's death. {F} Prince Phillip returns, connects his curse to Maleficent, and meets Mulan.
  • Girl Power Moment: Belle kicks butt. That girl can fight and persuade and detect and plan and just plain old take care of herself :)
  • Character Moment: It was nice to see Geppetto back. Have we seen him since the season premiere when he discovered August W. Booth's hat??? {shameless plug}
  • Bad Boy Moment: Boy was it nice to have Hook back in full swing this episode. Anyone else notice that whenever he captures a woman he plays it off quite flirty and charmy. His scene in the boat with Belle was riveting.
  • FairyTale Moment: I like that Grumpy and David/Charming are plugging to go back. I also understand MM's hesitation, especially in lieu of her recent Fairytale shenanigans. However unfortunately for our favourite princess, the gang has got to try to go back. Storybrooke just isn't their true home.
  • Sad Moment: I just felt back for Rumpel in this episode. For the most part, he made the right decisions {thanks to Belle}. However, it was still a sad day for him. That was an intense fight he and Belle had in his shop.
  • Awkward Moment: Regina didn't kill Archie. Emma and Henry have some groveling to do {speaking of which, the EQ was noticeably MIA this episode but for a quick appearance at the end}.
  • Cliffhanger: Mystery Car. Pennsylvania license plate: 2KFL 138. Any guesses?
  • Next Episode: True love's kiss and the return of Dr. Frankenstein.

On a scale from 1 to 10, how much are we loving the addition of Hook to the cast this season???

OUAT: The Cricket Game

Everyone ready for the winter stretch of our favourite TV show? Cause it promises to be a gooder. Just for some introduction, I do recaps on Mondays of the latest episode of Once Upon A Time by picking out spotlight moments. Let's discuss last night!

  • Best Moment: I really liked Emma & Regina's conversation outside of Granny's diner. Regina literally tried to change, but she got duped and framed by Cora {once again}. I've said it before, but her love for Henry is the best thing in her. I hope she can get redeemed once Cora is brought into the light.
  • Worst Moment: To be honest, it correlates with the best moment. The framing of Regina was heartbreaking, especially when she was crying in her car as Emma broke the news to Henry. Her Storybrook character is really changing.
  • Funny Moment: PRINCE CHARMING AND SNOW WHITE GET IT ON AFTER 28 YEARS. Guess that was bound to happen. However, the real kicker was when their daughter and grandson walked in {seriously, Henry hasn't had "the talk" yet????}. Who knows, Emma might get a little baby brother or sister :P Also a spin-off, Charming & Snow Providing Traumatic Memories To Their Adult Child
  • Best Line Moment: Regina to Red, "Go take yourself for a walk". Boom!
  • Stealth Moment: There were a lot of Oceans-11-gameplans going down in this episode. Both of them took down Evil-Queen-Regina. Go Team Snowing {Snow + Charming}!
  • Crossover Moment: Always gotta love a round table scene.
  • Random Moment: Does doctor-patient confidentiality apply in magical, fairytale scenarios? However, Regina did make a point as to the source of Archie's PhD.
  • Cute Moment: Emma relating her adventures in Storybrook to Henry. Seems like such a long time ago.
  • Fun Moment: The "Welcome Back Party"! It was so great to see the gang reunited! Plus, David's speech about "Here's to not having to look for awhile" was touching.
  • Magic Moment: Emma.
  • LOST Moment: Regina, "Don't tell me what I can and cannot do".
  • Not Enough Moment {new type of moment alert; started due to lack of certain characters}: Always can use more Hook in any given episode. Also shameless plug for August W. Booth!
  • Girl Power Moment: Emma getting all mad and defensive. Henry is her son! Back off Regina! Argggg!
  • Cliffhanger: Cora kidnapped Dr. Hopper. Hook's in charge of extracting his knowledge.
  • Next Episode: Belle is in trouble in both worlds and the mystery of strangers {or maybe just Neil Cassidy #guessing} entering Storybrook.

So which is weirder: seeing fairytale characters that we know and have been around forever in bed together, or knowing Emma walked in on her same-age-parents????

12/3 & OUAT

I'm doubling up on posts today. First up, number three of Dressember 2012.

12/3a

This dress is known in my mind as the "Little Indian Girl Dress". I once wore it with my hair in two french braids, and let me tell you, all I needed was feathers and a horse.

12/3b
Hairclips: Claire's // Dress: Suzy Cher // Tights: Joe Fresh

12/3c

Haha, the curtsey ones are my favourite to take :P.
Put your link in the comments if you are participating in the Dressember 2012 challenge!

Winter finale, guys! And our household {Brother & I} concurred that it was a great midseason finale.
Here are the points.
  • Best Moment: Do I have to pick just one? I was a fan of both the reunions. Emma and Henry haven't been together since the curse got de-activated, and it was high time they were reunited. Then of course, there was true love's kiss which always pulls out all the stops. So many similarities between the rest of Charming & Snow's other kisses. True love prevails.
  • Worst Moment: Carrying over from last week . . . Hook. He really is the bad boy. From his line to Emma about being "dried up and dead" to his inappropriate sexual comments, he's got rebel written all over him. Then, why do we want to root for him so much??? Still shipping him and Emma . . . {Shameless plug on the Bring-Back-August-W.-Booth-Campaign}
  • Explanation Moment{s}: Now we know {a} who the queen of hearts is, {b} what was going on with Belle between leaving Rumplestiltskin and the curse, {c} how Hook and Cora came to work together, {d} how Hook was able to remove a heart and only one, mind you, and {e} how a part of FairyTale land was shielded from the curse.
  • Let-down Moment: The squid-ink . . . ok then.
  • Sad Moment: Regina. These last two episodes have given us a lot of hope for this character. She was flat-out good in this episode and her being alone at the end was definitely sad.
  • Best Line Moment: "Good always defeats evil" rises again.
  • Wardrobe Moment: Did you catch Regina's crown in the crypt? What about her blue gown? She pulled out all the stops this episode.
  • Funny Moment: Hook to Cora, "Don't lakes generally have water?"
  • Action Moment: I enjoyed the swordfighting and such around the FairyTale Land portal. Hook and Emma are a great duo. Also, he totally had a redeeming moment when he saved Aurora's heart. See I knew he wasn't all bad.
  • Cute Moment: Aurora with her heart back, and then she and Mulan were off to find Prince Philip.
  • Suspicious Moment: Do you believe Mr. Gold when he says he had nothing to do with all of Emma's life events? I don't think I do . . .
  • Magic Moment: Emma's got a magic heart.
  • Cliffhanger: Cora and Hook made it to Storybrooke {via boat??}. In approximately one month, we'll find out how that went down.

Tell me your thoughts on the reunions and our resident bad boy below.
Until next month!

OUAT: Into the Deep

And we're back! I didn't realize how much I missed this show until we got this latest episode underway, and what an episode it was! Ack, so much is at stake I don't even know where to begin. Let me try to sort out my thoughts . . .
  • Best Moment: Definitely, definitely, definitely, definitely, definitely, hands down, no questions asked, winner takes all goes to Charming. The way he volunteered to go under the sleeping curse to {a} not only protect Henry from having to venture deeper within Neverland, but also {b} risk it all for a moment to see/be with Snow . . . I mean, wow! Can you ask for a better moment? I'm pretty sure when it cut to commercial I let out a supportive cheer!
  • Worst Moment: Oh, Hook, whyyyyyyyyyyyyyy?????? You are the biggest double triple quadruple crosser I have ever seen! I so much wanted you to be on Emma & Co.'s side, but no, you had to swindle your way out if it with your pirate ways yet again. And taking a heart??? There's no going back, buddy {Officially starting the bring-back-August-W.-Booth-campaign}.
  • Riveting Moment: I never even pieced together the dots of Snow being able to go back to Neverland. Of course, it makes so much sense. This whole sequence was magical {pun intended}.
  • Cute Moment: Belle & Rumple got to go out for their hamburger.
  • Funniest Line Moment: That's twice in a row that this award goes to Granny {not a lot of funny moments in this episode}. Granny to Gold: "I charge extra for the pickles".
  • Hero Moment: Henry. Enough said {except that he takes after his Grandpa . . . and Grandma . . . and Mom . . . }.
  • Plot Moment: Was Cora telling the truth regarding the wraith consuming souls thing? Is Philip just chilling in another world? This season is the season of many worlds . . .
  • Lovely Moment: I must say Regina, you were positively loveable in this episode. The way she interacted with Henry while finishing up the sleeping curse tugged at my heartstrings. Her biggest strength and redeeming quality is her love for Henry, and it really shone through in this episode.
  • Crossover Moment: Did the mirror room Charming was in before finding the fire room remind you of Raoul in the mirror room in Phantom of the Opera?
  • Saddest Moment: True love's kiss was just out of reach, and now Charming is stuck in the red room. Gut-wrenching.
  • Cliffhanger: Cora manipulating the Girl Crew via Aurora's heart that Hook took when he released her. A new quest to Rumplestiltskin's old cell to find the ink that was at a bottomless ocean that only mermaids and Rumple can get to . . .
  • Next Episode: Winter Finale, boooo. Everything comes to a head!!!!!!! Stuff hits the fan!!!!!

Tell me your thoughts on the the status of our favourite characters below.

OUAT: Child of the Moon

*Insert wolf howl here*. And we're off with yet another kick-butt Little Red Riding Hood/Big Bad Wolf episode that included a surprising twist. Here are my thoughts.
  • Best Moment: When David & Ruby had the moment in Storybrook where he helped her control herself in wolf-form when the mob was chasing after her. I've said it before, but those two have such an awesome duo dynamic that kind of reminds me of a brother and sister thing. It was nice to see him believe in her, and then later on, she believes in him.
  • Worst Moment: Thumbs down on Red's mom. We don't like you. What is it with these characters???? None of them have good parents {with the exception of the Charming-Snow-Emma-Henry bloodline}.
  • Promising Moment: Fairy dust!!!!!!! Celebrate!!!!!
  • Sweet Moment: Hello Gus the mouse. That was a cute crossover.
  • Evil Moment: Charles Widmore/Albert Spencer/King George. He's just rotten to the core. Who does he think he is showing up and threatening our resident sheriff/prince? And calling Ruby a she-wolf. She has a name {actually two, depending on which world you are going with}. And then Jefferson's hat {more on that later}.
  • Disney Moment: Did anyone else feel like breaking into the "Kill the Beast" song from Beauty & The Beast when the mob assembled with torches to take down Red? Anyone? No? No? Just me then.
  • Girl Power Moment: All the girl friendships in this show are awesome. Maybe it's the whole Disney princess thing. Red & Snow forever. Belle & Ruby forever.
  • Character Moment: Hello Quinn. Thank you for your contribution as to how to be a child of the moon. Goodbye, Quinn. His little chase and tumble with Red though was cute . . . I'll give him that.
  • Funny Moment: Granny regarding wolf hearing, "It's not all it's cracked up to be, especially when you run a hotel."
  • Cool Moment: The similarities between storylines. Snow helped Red in FairyTale World, whereas David helped Ruby in Storybrook. I felt like it helped connect our favourite royal couple in a way.
  • Sad Moment: The scene by the river when Charles Widmore {sorry, that name prevails over Albert Spencer or King George} burns Jefferson's hat. I felt so sorry for David, and he was so mad/defeated. I'm glad he punched C.W., but I'm also glad that Ruby stopped him from doing anything more.
  • Touching Moment: The scenes between Henry and David have really grown on me this season. They have such awesome interactions, and Henry really needed a man in his life. On that note . . .
  • Cliffhanger: . . . the whole dream sequence between Henry and Aurora, the burn on his hand, the control potion from Mr. Gold . . . what is going on!?!?! It's so intriguing and leaves me wanting to know more. What a nightmare though!
  • Next Episode: More nightmare stuff and communicating between worlds and Cora. Boo for being two weeks from now.

There are so many new faces for season 2. Who is your favourite so far???
See you in two weeks!

OUAT: Tallahassee

So far, my favourite episode of season 2!!!! So much happened, and we learned so much. So many questions answered, but so many more asked. Let's dive in!
  • Best Moment: Don't get me wrong, I love, love, love the Captain Hook character. And for thirty-seven minutes, he was the best part of the episode. However, the second that AUGUST W. BOOTH stepped out of the shadows, he won the best-moment-award. Ladies and Gentlemen, our favourite motorcycle-riding-typewriter-carrying-storybook-altering Pinnochio is BACK!
  • Worst Moment: Um, Mulan was going to cut down the beanstalk??? Not cool, girl. What about strapping a chain around it and climbing up??? Come on, be a man! Be as swift as a coursing river! With all the force of a great typhoon! With all the strength of a raging fire! Mysterious as the dark side of the moooooooooon! . . . whups . . . got a little carried away.
  • Pirates of the Caribbean Moment {new-moment-type-shout-out}: So who here caught the numerous references to Captain Jack Sparrow??? Flirting Captain Hook. Calls her love. Carries rum around. Chasing after a compass. Obsessed with treasure.
  • Explanation Moment{s}: We find out {a} how Emma came into possessing the yellow bug, {b} the moments leading up to why Henry was born in prison, and {c} who Henry's father is {hello, Neal Cassidy/mystery man from the cold opening in episode one}.
  • Romance Moment: I'm digging Hook & Emma. Hooma? Emmook? Eook? Hemma?
  • Sweet Moment: Snow relating to Aurora that Charming would light a candle when she would have the sleeping-curse-side-effects nightmares. How . . . charming :)
  • Character Moment: HELLO HURLEY! I'm sorry, but I couldn't take him seriously as the scary giant. I did buy it, however, when he was all sad and trapped . . . just not angry. Either way, it was great to have our favourite island resident in fairytale world.
  • Girl Power Moment: When Snow charged Mulan. That girl is hardcore!
  • Gasp Moment {I literally gasped out loud, ask brother}: Like I said earlier, AUGUST FREAKING W. BOOTH! The only part that confuses me was the part in season one where he said he wasn't "taking his job seriously" or "watching over her" until she returned to Storybrook at 8:15. However, now we find out he was coordinating her life path before Henry was born???? I'm gonna have to re-watch that episode from season one. Either way, who cares!?!?! He was back.
  • Intriguing Moment: What was in the box that made Neal believe so easily?
  • Cool Moment: August sent Neal the postcard.
  • Cliffhanger: This was a good one! Earlier in the episode, Aurora had a nightmare filled with a red room, blood red curtains, no windows or doors, a fire, curling up in a corner, and someone there. At the end of the episode, Henry has the exact same dream {and we find out that someone is a she}. Now my guess is foreshadowing??? My bets are on Cora??? And my fear is that it is all going to end very, very badly.
  • Next Episode: Little Red Riding Hood/The Big Bad Wolf in Storybrook, Charles Widmore, and mother dearest.

Weigh in on "Tallahassee" below. There is SO MUCH to discuss!

OUAT: The Doctor

Once upon a time, there was a world where every possible mythical character could live. I have always said that this show challenges the boundaries of fairytales as we know them, and this episode proved my theory once again. Let's discuss "The Doctor".
  • Best Moment: To be honest, I really liked Regina in this episode. My heart broke a little for her when she was fighting with David in order to be able to see Daniel. And then when Daniel and she had their short reunion, it was bittersweet. Also the fact that she was trying not to use magic in order to be with Henry. Yes, she's the villain. But she also has a heart {pun intended}.
  • Worst Moment: Rumple twisting with Regina's mind in order to turn her completely evil. Grrr, sometimes that guy is just mean and manipulative.
  • Hero Moment: These are becoming a weekly shout-out, but come on, David punching Dr. Whale??? Who didn't give out a little cheer when that happened!!?!?!
  • Sweet Moment: As mentioned before, I loved all the interactions this week between Archie and Regina.
  • Funny Moment/Best Line Moment: Henry to horse: "So is there anything you want to tell me?"
  • Plot Moment: Jefferson bringing Rumple the Wicked Witch of the West's crystal ball. Curious much?
  • Confusing Moment: So if Dr. Whale/Dr. Frankenstein is not from Storybrook or Past Fairtytale World or Present Fairytale World or Neverland or Wonderland, then what world is he from? Any "crazy scientist" fans out there wanna spread some light on where his hometower resides?
  • Interesting Moment: Science vs. Magic. The debate begins now.
  • Character Moment: More of Regina becoming just like Cora, right down to her vault full of hearts.
  • Meh Moment: I felt like the storyline in Present Fairytale World was just to hurry the plot along and get Hook working with the Girl Crew {Emma/Snow/Aurora/Mulan}.
  • Suspicious Moment: However, I was glad that Emma's super-power-I-can-tell-if-you're-lying is back. I felt like we lost it for a couple of episodes. Also, anyone else seeing some sparks between the Captain and Emma????
  • Cliffhanger: Frankenstein is indeed Dr. Whale's resurrected brother.
  • Next Episode: We meet Henry's father and HURLEY AS THE GIANT!

So on that note, which Once Upon A Time character are you going as for Halloween?

OUAT: The Crocodile

Yay, I am really liking the Captain Hook character and am excited that he'll be sticking around for awhile. Here are some thoughts on "The Crocodile".
  • Best Moment: I know he is being set up as a villain and whatnot, but let's be honest, Killian Jones/Captain Hook was the best part of the episode. First of all, he really embodied that whole Captain Jack Sparrow persona, right down to his line, "a sparkly jar of dirt". Second of all, he was just cool.
  • Worst Moment: I was really not a fan of Belle's father {Maurice/Moe French}. He was just kind of a pompous jerk. Like seriously, in what world does I'm-gonna-erase-my-daughter's-entire-memory-so-she-doesn't-love-the-guy make sense???
  • Annoying Moment: Maybe this is just me, but I really don't like dream sequences. Not in TV. Not in film. I just don't like them . . .
  • Promising Moment: David helping the dwarves mine for fairy dust and stepping in as acting sheriff is earning him some serious brownie points. Goodbye, wimpy David Nolan. Hello, brave Prince James.
  • Cute Moment: Ruby delivering food in a basket. And cue Hoodwinked music, "Here's a story I hope you like/It's the one about a girl riding on her bike . . . " No?
  • Awesome Moment: BELLE AS A LIBRARIAN! Seriously, genius.
  • Character Moment{s}: Shout out to Millah and Smee.
  • Plot Moment: Remember the cold opening in episode 1 of season 2??? How can that not be Baelfire, Rumplestiltskin's son???
  • Funny Moment: Just picture the TV segment . . . Dating Advice from Prince Charming!!!!!!!!
  • Random Moment: Princess Belle and Rumplestiltskin out for a hamburger. I can see it now.
  • Sad Moment: Still no August W. Booth.
  • Cliffhanger: Cora & Captain Hook are working together to get to Storybrook.
  • Next Episode: Is Dr. Whale the doctor who created Frankenstein???? Welcome back, Daniel {AKA the stableboy}.

What do you think? Is Captain Hook not the coolest ever???

Lady of the Lake

Hello, episode 3! Here are my thoughts on "Lady of the Lake".
  • Best Moment: Emma understanding why her mom had to let her go. MM kept showing a lot of motherly qualities and moments in this episode, and Emma was beginning to get it.
  • Worst Moment: Lancelot is dead? We just got to know him . . .
  • Crossover Moment: David to Henry, "Magic . . . always comes with a price." At least he knows what he's getting into.
  • Stupid Moment: I found Aurora's whole revenge thing kind of tacky. She was going to kill Snow, and now she's helping her???? I guess I'm just not liking her character too much.
  • Evil Moment: So I'm taking it the curse did not strip Cora of her powers . . .
  • Wardrobe Moment: Who else loved Snow's outfit!!?!?!
  • Scary Moment: I know that we know that Snow & Charming have Emma, but it was still scary when Snow drank the cursed potion.
  • Beautiful Moment: Happy Wedding, Snow & Charming! Although it was under sad circumstances {RIP Mother Charming} that they got married, the fact that they did was beautiful.
  • Cute Moment: Okay, I know it's cheesy, but the whole gypsy-predict-the-baby-necklace thing was cute and touching and sweet and . . .
  • Random Moment: For the record, I still hate two-headed snakes.
  • Touching Moment{s}: Jefferson & Grace re-uniting. David & Henry sword-fighting. So many family moments.
  • Cliffhanger: Charles Widmore King George Albert Spencer {I had to look his Storybrook name up} is back in town.
  • Next Episode: Belle gets kidnapped!?!?!

What's your favourite part about Season 2 so far???

We Are Both

Yay, Season 2 of Once Upon A Time continued with its thrilling and twisting stories, and "We Are Both" was no exception. Here are some thoughts :)
  • Best Moment: I really enjoyed David's speech {or should we just call him Gramps?} to all of Storybrook at the borderline. Seeing David fully embrace his Prince-Charming-self makes up for all the bad decisions he made as David in Season 1.
  • Worst Moment: Regina turning from a sweet, innocent girl to the evil queen. It was sad to watch, and it made me dislike her mom even more.
  • Confusing Moment: All of Rumplestiltskin's ramblings on of knowing Regina when she was a baby and all that confused me. Where is that storyline going?
  • Creepy Moment: Dr. Whale's comment about the nuns. WHO IS HE???
  • Best Line Moment: David to Red: "I did the fighting. Snow did the talking". Awww, I missed Snow & Charming together this episode.
  • Character Moment: AUGUST W. BOOTH is ALIVE! At least, his Pinocchio side is. So happy :)
  • Frustrating Moment: Alright, this somewhat confused me. Why didn't Mulan and Aurora recognize Snow as their long lost queen?? Why didn't Snow say something? I'm so confused by this little village in the corner of Fairytale Land {or is it The Enchanted Forest}?
  • Random Moment: Hello Jefferson, you're still a bit mad.
  • Girl Power Moment: Red organizing the first aid shelter.
  • Sad Moment: Sneezy losing all of his memories. Although the result was the dwarves all making it their mission to mine for fairy dust.
  • Cliffhanger: Cora is alive, and now a prisoner with Snow & Emma.
  • Next Episode: David teaches Henry how to sword fight, Sir Lancelot, and ogres.
What was your stand-out moment from "We are Both"?

Magic is HERE!!!!!!

And I'm back to talk all about it :)

Last night brought the much anticipated premiere of season 2 of Once Upon A Time. I've talk ad nauseum about this show, but that doesn't mean I'm gonna stop. Because last night's episode "Broken" was just the start of what promised to be an AH-MA-ZING season!

  • Best Moment: All the reunions. Charming & Snow. Snow & the dwarves. Snow & Ruby. Snow, Charming, & Emma. So touching and well worth the wait.
  • Worst Moment: There wasn't one . . . other than it was over too fast.
  • Suspicious Moment: The cold opening? Who was the mystery man? What was with the city? Why is he receiving a postcard with the word Broken on it? All the more questions to be asked.
  • Crossover Moment: True love's kiss has now officially been the opening moments for both seasons! I loved the similarities.
  • Funniest Moment: Henry to David, "Grandpa?" HILARIOUS.
  • Lovely Moment: The looks on David's and MM's faces when they hugged Emma. They had waited 28 years for this.
  • Confused Moment: Who is Dr. Whale?
  • Best Line Moment: MM on explaining her Dr. Whale one night stand to David, "We were cursed."
  • Character Moment: Hello Prince Phillip, Aurora, and Mulan. Also, hello love triangle.
  • Magic Moment: Does Emma have some sort of magic?
  • Awesome Moment: The whole storyline that fairytale land was frozen in time and yet a small part of it was unaffected by the curse.
  • Crossover Moment #2: Charming's staple line {this time to Henry}, "I will always find them."
  • Sad Moment: No August W. Booth.
  • Cliffhanger: Emma & MM back to fairytale land.
  • Next Episode: Jefferson, Regina, Henry, and David all involved in retrieving Emma & MM.

Talk about an amazing episode.
Which moment in "Broken" was your favourite or stuck out to you the most?
