Let's Talk About The Oscars

So did you watch them? Because I did and they were GREAT!

Yay for Seth McFarlane! He kept us laughing the entire four hours with some great and quite relevant jokes. "The family Von Trapp!" "Mission to make Tommy Lee Jones smile begins now.""This next woman needs no introduction" *leaves stage*.

Best dressed? Hands down, our girl Jennifer Lawrence. She not only had the best dress but she won Best Actress! And the girl crush continues.

Best moment of the entire evening right here, ladies and gentlemen. Les Mis, great job on three awards!

Current State of Mind

loving // So many things! Clinical. Friendships. Hockey. Yoga. Work {yes, I said it}. This past month {so this past year} has been off to good start, and if every month is as good, then I think I'm set for a great year!

watching // Well, now that Once Upon A Time is on hiatus, I've had to find other TV to occupy my time {although there hasn't been much free time to do that}. It's no secret that I've been keeping up with the Vancouver Canucks {boo to the shoot-out loss last night}. I saw Hansel and Gretel in theatres this past weekend. And to everyone who is just catching up with Downton Abbey {I watched it online when it came out in the UK}, how do you feel now after the "Sybil" episode!?!?!?

wishing // That eating healthy and exercising wasn't so hard to coordinate. I realized that I need a routine in order to get my health in order, but the difficult part is my life is so void of routine due to the school schedule {I know, excuses, excuses}. 

eating // On that note, I went grocery shopping for chicken and penne over the weekend, and now am anxious to try out a good cheese sauce. Yet another area of my life I wish had more forethought {oh the ever looming meal planning}.

reading // My first choice for my 100 Books reading challenge was the Harry Potter series. I'm excited to read all seven books again! Another series I'll be rereading before November will be The Hunger Games. There are some books that deserve to be read over and over and over.

looking forward to // Reading week. I get to go on a mini-vacation, and just spend time not studying or getting up early. Plus after reading week, I will only have a total of 7 weeks left of third year! Booyah!

12/28 {Happy Half Birthday}

So, let's talk about my name. Not exactly a chart topper for most common names of 2012. Most people when they meet me offer up some generic joke about siblings named Bronze or throw in a little "Hi ho, Silver" {P.S. Who's excited for the remake of The Lone Ranger?}. Therefore, when I found out there was a character on the great world of television, I was ecstatic. Turns out it was the CW's 90210, boooo {sorry to 90210 shippers}.

However, the point of all this is that the character Silver celebrates her half birthday every year. Kinda cool, eh? Well today is my half birthday! I wrote on Facebook this morning "If Silver from 90210 can celebrate her half birthday, then I think Silvers from all over the world should be able to. Happy Half Birthday To Me!" Believe me, I'm not expecting anything out of this; however, I do think it would be a good day to check in with my 23 Before 24 Bucket List.

No. 347 - Emily & ???

{Spoilers Ahead}

Wow, and I mean, . . . wow.

Now, I know there are plenty of speculations about all the stupid-ness & dis-reality of The Bachelorette/Bachelor franchise {99% true}, but if there ever was a redemption, it was Emily's season.

And . . . SHE CHOSE JEF!

Jef was the guy I was "rooting for" right from day one. When he rolled up on that skateboard with that hair, I was like . . . yep, he's awesome.

Every date they had, my skepticism fell away and I began believing, "This could actually work". 

Then it turned into, "I'm really scared it won't work".

And finally ended in, "YES, it actually worked!"

Last night's season finale when Jef met Rikki {Emily's daughter}, I knew that that relationship could not be more right. Yes, it was difficult and awkward when she "broke up" with Arie, but I respect her so much for how she handled the situation.

And, you should have seen me {or maybe it's better that you didn't}, because this girl was definitely crying happy tears when Jef knelt down and proposed. Happy, happy, happy tears.

So call me crazy, call me delusional, call me a hopeless romantic, call me maybe {whups, wrong scene}, but I wish all the best and every happiness to JEF & EMILY ♥

No. 277 - OUAT Season Finale

Well, we have come to the end of Season 1 of Once Upon A Time and what a journey that was!

Good news is that it will be back next year for a whole round of craziness and magic.

So, I figured since this was the end not only will I share my thoughts about last night's game-changing episode, but also my thoughts on the season as a whole, Silver-style. Ready? Here are the points on "A Land Without Magic".

• Best Moment: The first few moments where Emma remembers/embraces the curse and the reality of the situation. At first, we (Shawna, Allie, Robyn, and I) played a little game of does she remember? but once she slammed Regina/EQ into the storage closet, it was ON! Although every character remembering in Storybrook was a close 2nd for best moment.
• Worst Moment: I actually can't remember one . . .
• Sad Moment: August W. Booth as a grown-up Pinocchio.
• Cheesy Moment: When James swooped his cape as he knelt down to propose to Snow (swooped was the only word that came to mind).
• Character Moment: HELLO SHERIFF GRAHAM/HUNTSMAN! Also Belle! It truly felt like the whole family was together.
• LOST Moment: The Apollo candy bar in Henry's backpack.
• Cool Moment: The fact that James' dragon fight was intercut with Emma's dragon fight. Also, this may be the first time ever that anyone has fought a dragon with a handgun.
• Best Action Scene: There was so many, but my favourite had to be the first one when James was trying to escape the castle.
• Stupid Moment: I thought Emma could tell when people are lying??? Why did she give Mr. Gold the egg? Why, oh, why??
• Misleading Moment: Did anyone else think Maleficent the Dragon would be Belle?
• Suspicious Moment: I actually thought for a split second that they were going to kill of Henry. Alas, we will have him around to state the obvious for at least another season :)
• Next Episode: Well, obviously it won't be until the fall, but I am looking forward to seeing these characters with their memories and with their magic . . .

Alright, and now for the whole season!

• Best Episode: I still am going with Episode 3 "Snow Falls" where Snow is all tough girl and takes down James and gives him his "Charming" name. I think this is where I knew this was no ordinary fairytale story.
• Worst Episode: Episode 14 "Dreamy". I wasn't a fan of the dwarf and fairy storyline. Sorry.
• Saddest Episode: Episode 7 "The Heart Is A Lonely Hunter". RIP Sheriff Graham. Live on as the huntsman.
• Frustrating Episode: Episode 20 "The Stranger". The one in which August W. Booth is in fact not Mr. Gold's son.
• Somewhat-Useless Episode: Episode 9 "True North". Hello, Hansel and Gretel. We'll never see or hear from you again.
• Cheesiest Episode: Episode 1 "Pilot". Which I find can sometimes usually be the case with most TV shows, because they're just getting their footing.
• Favourite Episode: Episode 6 "The Shepherd". AKA the one in which David and MM kissed <3.

Alright so now that I've exhausted every avenue of talking about this show, I'm done for awhile.

Reality TV (My Rant on The Bachelor/Bachelorette)

I really don't understand reality TV. Let me just start by analyzing The Bachelor/Bachelorette. First of all, who in their right mind would audition or apply for a show like this? I mean, obviously a lot of people because there have been a total of twenty seasons between the two shows, but seriously people!?!?!?! First of all, when I fall in love, I would prefer it to a) not be broadcasted for a million and one people and b) not be while competing against 24 other women. WHY WOULD ANYONE WANT THAT? Second, if you agree to a show like that, I'm sorry, but you really get what's coming to you. We all are supposed to feel sorry for certain girls and sympathize with them, but they willingly and knowingly (20 seasons people) put themselves in those situations. "It really hurts that he didn't love me," quotes every woman as she drives away in the limo. It's a competition, baby. No one forced to you to "come here to find, love." Seriously, one review said that these people should be banned from using the word love until the final episode of each season. I thoroughly agree. No, I say all these people should go to counselling to find out what love is. Thirdly, I love how personal and intimate all those one-on-one dates are. Pshh, one-on-one. There is him and her and camera man 1 and camera man 2 and ... oh ya, all the viewers. How would you like your first kiss with your date to be so public????????
Now, I understand what a big hypocrite I am, because as is obvious from the details above, I watch this show, but I still don't understand reality TV.
