The project: Dressember 2012
The mission: Only dresses for 31 days
The rules: Repeats allowed
The collection: 34 {yes, 34} dresses
The reason: I love dresses and . . . why not?

So I have decided {very last minute, I might add} to participate in Dressember 2012. Am I crazy? Probably. I live in average -25 degrees Celsius weather. I walk a lot to my destination due to a lack of a vehicle. Am I excited and inspired? Absolutely! Those who know me know my love of dresses, and I've been itching for another A Silver Snapshot challenge {I'm all about the challenges}.

Now, I have a total of 34 dresses belonging to my name. This is an assortment of summer dresses, winter dresses, party dresses, short and long dresses, and handmade dresses. Some might say that is a lot, while others would disagree. Either way, this is the starting lot for this challenge.

I am going back to blogging every day, because I will photographing and documenting each of the 31 dress days :). However, fear not, this will not be the only content during this month. Other regular {or irregular, who knows} blog posts will either be in an additional post or combined. 

Furthermore, I'll put some of these pictures on my Instagram asilversnapshot.

Finally, here are ways to particpate . . .

1. Suggest different outfit combinations or specific dresses for certain days.

2. Donate/Lend me dresses {I'm looking at my girlfriends who are approximately the same size as me}.

DIY Magazine Binder

If you are anything like me, the magazines have a tendency to pile up around the home, and they become more of a burden than a feature. So this past week, I decided to compile all my favourite pages from my magazines and put them into a binder.
Check it out.
 
Wow, look at that.

All of those magazines, and those sheets are the only part I want to keep.

Grab a binder, some sheet protectors, and there you go.

DIY Music Book

So I had a problem that was getting a little out of hand . . . a disorganized music book.

First, I organized each music piece into its own separate pile. I fixed tears, punched holes, and titled everything.

Then, I made alphabetical dividers.

Put everything into a 1.5" binder.

Created a fun printable.

And played beautiful melodies in an organized manner :)

CGFP {DIY Scalloped Shorts}

After too many days, it's time for another edition of College Girl's Fashion Project,

and today's outfit is the scalloped shorts!

The before picture.

First, I measured the projected length against a different pair of shorts.

Measure & pin.

Cut.

Stencil out the scalloped pattern.

Finished product {along with newly red hair}.

No. 338 - DIY Skin Care Products Box

Here is a random DIY that I did in less than 20 minutes. I was rearranging my shelves under my mirror in my bedroom & decided I needed some sort of container to hold all my skin care products. Here is what I came up with.

Here are all my random products that need a home.

Supplies

-Box

-Scrapbooking Paper

-Scissors

-Pretty Ribbon

Cut the edges off the box.

Put pretty paper on the bottom.

Punch two holes in the front and thread ribbon through.

Place all your products inside!

Cute, thrifty, and organized!

No. 327 - DIY Canada Day Centerpiece

I know Canada Day has come and gone,
but here is a DIY for a centerpiece to celebrate our national holiday.

Supplies

-Small vase

-Glass rocks {or some other stabilizer}

-Rubber Canada Day bracelet

-Mini Canada Flags

Pour the glass rocks in the vase.

Slide the rubber bracelet over the waist of the vase.

Stick the flags in the glass rocks.

Display :)

No. 254 - CGFP (Denim Vest)

Yay, College Girl's Fashion Project is back!

Today's clothing article: The Syncrude Denim Jacket

Here's what I did to it. I cut off the sleeves

 and sewed a piece of the cuff over the logo.

No. 229 - CGFP (Wedding Attire) & OUAT

Time for another edition of College Girl's Fashion Project. This one is an 

alteration of a dress into a skirt I wore to Eric & Liz's wedding.

Here is the dress before alterations.

I took off a layer and the straps.

Finished product.

Normally, when Once Upon A Time brings in guest stars, I get worried that it's just a filler episode.

I was wrong. "Hat Trick" was an amazing episode, and it moved the overarching storyline along.

• Best Moment: I loved all of Jefferson's convincing speeches to Emma. "All worlds have magic. Some need it more." "Wake up, Emma." "There are several worlds all connected." All of his reasonings were compelling without sounding cheesy.
• Disappointing Moment: I wish Emma wouldn't have faked believing Jefferson to the extreme she did. I know her subconscious probably believes more than she is letting on, but I was somewhat disappointed when she knocked him out with the telescope.
• Evil Moment: Regina. Yep, that's it.
• Creepy Moment: The whole episode was creepy, but an intriguing type of creepy. I liked it.
• Betrayal Moment: Just when you think you've figured out Mr. Gold, he double (or triple) crosses you yet again . . .
• Fairytale Moment(s): This episode was full of historical stuff - tea parties, rabbits, turtles, old witches, Wonderland, Queen of Hearts, etc.
• Girl Power Moment: Emma & MM were kind of kick-butt in this episode.
• Suspicious Moment: What was that vault Regina got her dad out of? It looked surprisingly similar to the vault she retrieved Graham's heart from (RIP).
• Promising Moment: Emma asked to keep Henry's book. Points for Henry!
• Next Episode: We finally figure out what Snow did to the Queen!
